Bathrooms
Unclogging
a bathtub drain, check if other drains are blocked
or slow; if so, the problem may originate
elsewhere in the plumbing system. To prepare a
bathtub for clearing out a clog, remove the drain
fittings.

Floor
Proper backing for the tiling surface is very
important. Backing for the tile floor may consist
of exterior grade heel-proof plywood, luan
underpayment panel, or mortar based backer board,
or exterior plywood underpayment. It should be at
least 11/4" thick over a minimum of 16"
on center floor joists. Otherwise a 'flex"
can cause tiles to pop out of place.

Painting
Color
is probably the most useful of all the tools at
the decorator's disposal. Handled properly, it can
make a small room seem larger, a dark room
lighter, or bring about a complete change of
atmosphere.

Wall
Papering
The
stunning array of wallpaper on the market suits
any decorating mood and budget. Whether you opt
for cheerful floral, stately paisley and foulard
looks, soft neutral patterns, geometric designs,
or traditional stripes, checks, and dots, it's
important to apply your wallpaper correctly.

Wall Treatments
When
you refurbish a room with new wallboard or
paneling, first-class results depend on a uniform
underlying surface. If walls are not flat---
without noticeable ridges and valleys- it will be
difficult to apply the new covering
satisfactorily.
